Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey's divorce may get nasty... the couple didn't get a pre-nup before their 2002 wedding.
Jessica made $35 million last year alone and it looks like she will suffer most. Californian divorce laws say that all assets should be split equally when there's no documentation to prove otherwise.
Jessica has hired divorce lawyer Laura Wasser to handle her case, who famously represented Angelina Jolie when she split from Billy Bob Thornton.

In the latest issue of US Weekly, out on newsstands Friday, the magazine offers up some revealing details about the split.
Sources tell US that Jessica sent Nick an e-mail on November 23 about her plans to go public with the news that their union was coming to an end. "She had had enough of the marriage and the fighting," the magazine quotes a source as saying. "She just wanted it to be over."
Another source close to Nick tells US that he was blindsided. "He feels like he was sucker-punched. He wasn't even expecting it. He was devastated."
